Avenue of Honor Project

Airpac Squadron proudly sponsors the Avenue of Honor project which raises flags at the Santa Barbara Cemetery in honor of veterans of all branches of service for a two week period every Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day.

 

Many of the flags have been donated by families of deceased veterans, feeling it an honor that their loved ones flags be flown in their honor rather than being stored. We have also received flags from others who have simply wished to offer their support.

 

It is our desire to see this project grow each year adding more and more flags. If you are in possession of a casket sized flag (9-½’ x 5’) and would like to donate it to be flown with pride on the Avenue of Honor, we would graciously accept it and treat it with the due reverence it deserves. Our cadets will properly fold each flag and store it in an appropriate manner while it is not being  flown at the cemetery.

 

Donations to purchase flags are also appreciated. A donation of $100 will purchase a flag, pole and insert. If desired, the name of a person you want to remember will be embroidered on the binding. Please provide name, rank, branch of service and years of service.
